Wind Is What Makes Ventura Different.
Plenty of the coast gets salt air. Ventura gets it driven. The afternoon wind off the water carries salt and fine sand and puts both onto the windward face of the house, which is why one side of a Ventura home is often visibly worse than the other three.
That wind is also why screens matter more here. Mesh catches and holds salt and grit, and then every time the marine air comes through it redeposits onto glass you just cleaned. Cleaning the windows and leaving loaded screens in place is how you end up disappointed in a week.
Beach-adjacent bungalows take the worst of it, and older aluminum frames near the water corrode if salt is left sitting in the tracks. Clearing the tracks and sills is part of the job, not an extra.
Water quality
Up to 53 Grains at the Wells.
Ventura Water breaks hardness out by source in its 2024 report, and the spread is wide. Water from the Ventura River averages 26 grains per gallon. Casitas supply is the easiest at 15. City groundwater averages 37 grains and ranges as high as 53.
The US Geological Survey calls 10.5 grains per gallon “very hard.” Ventura’s groundwater can arrive at five times that number.
Which gives a Ventura window two separate problems. Salt and sand blow onto the outside of the glass, and then hard water gets rinsed onto it from the hose or the irrigation. Deionized water solves the second one, because it dries without leaving minerals behind. Nothing solves the first except cleaning it off.

What a Ventura Job Costs.
Most companies here make you call to find out. We would rather you know roughly where you stand before you pick up the phone.
Typical Ventura home
$165–$400
Exterior glass, sills and frames on a typical Ventura home.
Where you land in that range depends on the package you put together. Exterior glass is the baseline. Adding interior, screens, skylights, tracks or hard-water removal moves the number, and so does putting windows together with gutters, solar or a wash-down on the same visit.
Which is why we quote in person rather than over the phone. We come out, walk the property, count the glass and look at the access, then give you one number covering everything you have chosen. It is free, and there is no obligation to book.

Ventura Questions.
How much does window cleaning cost in Ventura?
Most Ventura homes run between $165 and $400 for exterior window cleaning, covering glass, sills and frames. Screen cleaning is the add-on we recommend most often this close to the water. Multi-story and hillside properties are quoted after a look. Quotes are free and given in person.
How hard is the water in Ventura?
Very hard, and it depends on the source. Ventura Water's 2024 report gives Ventura River water at 26 grains per gallon, Casitas supply at 15, and city groundwater at an average of 37 with a range up to 53. The US Geological Survey threshold for very hard water is 10.5 grains per gallon.
Should I have my screens cleaned too?
In Ventura, usually yes. Screens hold the salt and sand the wind delivers, and they put it back on the glass at the first damp morning. It is the single add-on that makes the most difference this close to the water.
How often do beach-adjacent homes need cleaning?
Three to four times a year is common within a few blocks of the water, against twice a year further inland. Salt does not wait for a schedule, and it does more than look bad — left in aluminum tracks it corrodes them.
Do you serve Ventura as well as Santa Barbara?
Yes. Ventura, Oxnard-adjacent neighbourhoods and the hillside tracts above the city are all regular territory for us, alongside Santa Barbara, Montecito and Ojai.
